Dr. Timothy Rodgers is a specialist in Internal Medicine and has been caring for patients in Santa Barbara for many years. Previously, he was in private practice in San Francisco for two years, where he also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Rodgers grew up in the city of San Francisco where he became an Eagle Scout. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biomedical Sciences. At Berkeley he was a Varsity Letterman and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He earned his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine were served at the University of Virginia Hospital, New York Hospital (Cornell), Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, and the Stanford University Hospital.

He is a long time member of Cottage Hospital’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and the Diabetes Education Committee. His professional interests include preventive medicine, hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, travel medicine, and osteoporosis.

Dr. Rodgers is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the professional organization for Internal Medicine Specialists.

Dr. Rodgers and his wife, Pamela, have two grown children who both live and work in San Francisco. Kit is an engineer, and Kerry is an artist. With the children gone the Rodgers’ attention is now directed toward their grandchildren and dogs. When not caring for patients, Dr. Rodgers enjoys restoring classic automobiles, astronomy, helping Pamela with her honeybee hives, and studying medical history. He belongs to a book club and is a supporter of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. He is interested in alterative energy and has installed solar panels at his home. On a sunny Sunday afternoon he may be seen with his wife cruising about the South Coast in their electric car—‘Driving on Sunshine!’
